United States Class Visitation Map

The Class Travel Map Activity is an interactive geography and data-analysis project where students create a shared map based on the states they have visited or driven through. Each student begins by completing a take-home assignment with their family, shading the U.S. states they have been to. In class, students tap each state on a digital map to record their visits, instantly generating real data the whole class can see. The map automatically color-codes states by how many classmates have visited them and displays the information using bar graphs, pie charts, and optional math problem sets. This engaging activity helps students build geography skills, interpret charts, explore real-world data, and learn more about the places their classmates have been—making U.S. geography personal, visual, and meaningful.
