Join, or Die and Corporate Logos |
This activity explains Franklin's famous "Join or Die" woodcut and requires students to think of prominent logos of today's businesses and organizations (e.g. Target, Nike etc.) and (similarly) attempt to explain the symbolism behind the logos. |
Use this Activity: |
| Explain/Brainstorm - Talk to students about logos and display some well-known ones on the whiteboard such as Nike, Target, Amazon, Instagram etc. Generate whole-class or small-group conversation about the meaning behind the logos and have students share their ideas. Explain the assignment to students and allow them to work independently. |
