Keeping the Acts Straight: An Icon guide to the Sugar, Stamp, and Townshend Acts

This activity requires students to document the specific of the Stamp Act and Townshend Act with icons.

 
 

Use this Activity:

Explain/Brainstorm - Make a three-column heading on the whiteboard and label them Sugar, Stamp, and Townshend Acts. Call on students to fill in the chart with the specific products taxed as part of each act. Help students if necessary. Then, distribute the activity and tell students to draw a colorful icon for each product taxed within each act. These look great if your students maintain interactive notebooks.
