Stamp Act Vitriol

This activity illustrates the famous Emblem of the Effects of the Stamp and requires students to make their own “dreaded” stamp that could serve as a protest to homework.

 
 

Use this Activity:

Explain/Brainstorm - Talk to students about symbols and encourage them to dream up a symbol they could use when they think their teachers assign too much homework, similar to the symbol of protest used by the colonists called the Emblem of the Effect of the Stamp, pictured at the top of the page. What would the Emblem of the Effect of Homework look like?
Morning Work - This activity can serve as a fun start to the day or social studies class.
