Overrated

This prompt discusses whether Columbus was overrated in history and requires students to write about something that is overrated.
 
 

Use this Activity:

Define - Define for students the concept of overrated.
Brainstorm - Brainstorm with students products, events, books, movies, teams, or other things that they consider overrated.
Response: Explain to students that there is no right answer. A narrative response, however, should include details, evidence, and elaboration.
Homework - This activity is a great way to assign homework in social studies or language arts.
Share- Allow students 15 minutes to write. Then, encourage them to share with the class.
